The term client as used here refers to anybody who forms a contract with Michael David Murphy Photography whether for payment, as part of a portfolio building shoot, as a free promotion or other free photo shoot.


Client contact details are used only for the purpose of fulfilling your contract with Michael David Murphy Photography and retained to fulfil any legal requirements related to the contract such as payment and invoicing or to usage of images.


Client contact details are never used for unsolicited marketing by Michael David Murphy Photography. Client contact details are never provided to any third parties for marketing purposes.


Client contact details may be provided to third parties as part of the process of fulfilling your contract with Michael David Murphy Photography. For example, client contact details may be provided to suppliers of photographic products in order to enable delivery of orders placed through Michael David Murphy Photography.


Clients contact details are retained for the purpose of fulfilling your contract with Michael David Murphy Photography and for at least the minimum period required by tax and financial law. Michael David Murphy Photography uses PayPal for online payments and invoicing. Online payments are handled directly by the client through PayPal. Model or property releases containing client details may be provided to third parties as evidence of permission to publish or otherwise use images.


Client details, including contracts and invoices, are retained electronically in encrypted files and stored locally and remotely in encrypted form to ensure against loss of data by failure of the storage medium, fire or theft.


Client details, including phone, email and address details may be held temporarily on a password- protected mobile phone and remotely in order to facilitate fulfilment of contracts. This is necessary in order to contact clients, sometimes at short notice, when meeting for photo shoots, for example.


If you have provided contact details to Michael David Murphy Photography, you may request to see what information is held. This will normally be your email, phone and  your address. You may request deletion of your details. This will be undertaken as long as it does not conflict with any legal requirement or necessity to retain your details as described above.


If you have provided email or other details as part of a query and you do not subsequently form a contract with Michael David Murphy Photography, your details will be deleted. If you provide contact details as part of a promotion and you do not proceed with the promotion, then your details will be deleted or destroyed, normally within 2-3 months of providing the details.
